What you need
- 400g Maris Piper/ Desiree potatoes
- 1 clove garlic
- 200ml milk (sterilised or Channel Island)
- 200ml whipping cream

What you do
- Peel and slice the potatoes about 3mm thick.
- In a heavy bottomed pan, bring the milk, cream and crushed garlic to the boil and add a good pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper.
- Add the potatoes and bring to the boil making sure they don’t stick to the bottom.
- Place in a casserole dish and bake at 180°C for between 30-40 minutes. The potatoes are done when you insert a knife and it slides in and out easily
