What you need
  • 400g Maris Piper/ Desiree potatoes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 200ml milk (sterilised or Channel Island)
  • 200ml whipping cream
What you do
  1. Peel and slice the potatoes about 3mm thick.
  2. In a heavy bottomed pan, bring the milk, cream and crushed garlic to the boil and add a good pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper.
  3. Add the potatoes and bring to the boil making sure they don’t stick to the bottom.
  4. Place in a casserole dish and bake at 180°C for between 30-40 minutes. The potatoes are done when you insert a knife and it slides in and out easily
